Ascendance 2016 was the 63rd CPV mega event produced by SCAW. It was the 7th in the chronology. It took place from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida on October (formerly September) 8, 2016.
The card was comprised of eleven matches (including one on the Preshow). Captain Marvel and Spider-Man wrestled for the SCAW Championship in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at the main event.

Thor and Ghost Rider wrestled in a 2016 SCAW Tournament quarterfinals match. Thor made Ghost Rider submit with the Hammer Lock.
Tommy Vercetti and Angry Video Game Nerd wrestled in a 2016 SCAW Tournament quarterfinals match. Vercetti pinned AVGN after the Dirt Nap.
The Joker and King wrestled in a 2016 SCAW Tournament quarterfinals match. The Joker pinned King after two Why So Serious.
Solid Snake and Jin Kazama wrestled in a 2016 SCAW Tournament quarterfinals match. Solid Snake pinned Kazama after a DDT. Kazama continued his attack afterward. This was the shortest match lasting just under a minute.
Robin and Edward Elric wrestled. Elric was interviewed by Kevin Smith. Robin made Elric submit with the cross face.
Kang Jones (Liu Kang & Casey Jones) were interviewed by Kevin Smith.
Thor and Tommy Vercetti wrestled in a 2016 SCAW Tournament semifinals match. Thor pinned Vercetti after the Mjolnir.
Captain Marvel told Kevin Smith that he is changing his name to Shazam on the next SCAW Superstar Clash.
The Joker and Solid Snake wrestled in a 2016 SCAW Tournament semifinals match. The Joker pinned Solid Snake after the Why So Serious.
Albert Wesker was interviewed by Kevin Smith.
Captain America challenged Iron Man at Blood, Sweat & Tears IX.
Dante was interviewed by Gene Simmons.
Kang Jones defended the SCAW Tag Team Championship against The Prince of Persia & his mystery partner Drax the Destroyer. The Prince of Persia pinned Liu Kang after a float over DDT to win the Tag Team Championship.
Thor and The Joker wrestled in the 2016 SCAW Tournament finals match. The winner will challenge for the SCAW Championship at Blood, Sweat and Tears IX. Thor was interviewed by Gene Simmons. Thor pinned The Joker after tackling him through a flaming table.
Bruce Wayne announced that Superman is coming back on the next Superstar Clash.
Main event[]
Captain Marvel and Spider-Man wrestled for the SCAW Championship in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match. Captain Marvel hit Spider-Man with a swinging neck breaker from a ladder to outside the ring then grabbed the SCAW Championship to retain.
